What do you do when you can't find what you're looking for? You make your own! I really wanted a local fair themed to health and wellbeing in order to reach the right kind of audience for my products. Unfortunately, I just couldn't find anything suitable in my area. So, I started researching venues to hire and reaching out to other businesses about the potential of holding a fair. Four months later, the Horley Health & Wellbeing Fair was born. We had 14 stallholders, covering everything from gong healing to acupuncture, pilates to aesthetics. It was certainly a lot of hard work, but I've always loved organising events, so I stuck at it. Of course, as well as all the admin for the fair, I also had to make a whole bunch of products to sell! I decided to focus more on make-up products for this event, as they're bright and eye-catching. If you're reading this at the time it's published, you'll notice that some of the products I had on my stall aren't actually available on the website yet. That's because I'm still experimenting with colours and wanted to test out which would be most popular. In fact, we had a steady stream of visitors throughout the day. What was particularly gratifying was that everyone seemed really interested in complementary medicine and therapies, and spent a long time talking to all the stallholders in the room. Lots of people had good days sales-wise (including me), but more importantly lots of networking opportunities were created between people working in different types of therapy. I'll definitely be holding this event again, so if you're local to Horley then stay tuned!
