If you're looking for a high performance deodorant that's suitable for sensitive skin and won't stain your clothes, then you're in the right place. You may have heard some of the concerns around anti-perspirants (if not you're welcome to read my article on them here). In order to protect our health, we want to kill the bacteria that cause odour, without interfering with sweat production.
Most natural deodorants do this through a combination of sodium bicarbonate and zinc oxide. The trouble with sodium bicarbonate is that it's very alkaline, which does kill bacteria but also kills the good ones that we want on our skin, as well as disturbing the acid mantle. Some people get on well with it, but it's likely to cause a reaction in anyone with slightly sensitive skin. Zinc oxide is a good alternative, but as everyone who's used this kind of natural deodorant knows, it leaves white marks all over your clothes (think of Australian cricketers in the 1980s).
That's why I've created this high-performance deodorant, using natural plant extracts and inert minerals for a gentle and protective deodorant cream.
To use, apply a thin layer of cream with fingertips or a spatula.
