Horley Health & Wellbeing Fair

What do you do when you can't find what you're looking for? You make your own! I really wanted a local fair themed to health and wellbeing in order to reach the right kind of audience for my products. Unfortunately, I just couldn't find anything suitable in my area. So, I started researching venues to hire and reaching out to other businesses about the potential of holding a fair.

Four months later, the Horley Health & Wellbeing Fair was born. We had 14 stallholders, covering everything from gong healing to acupuncture, pilates to aesthetics.

It was certainly a lot of hard work, but I've always loved organising events, so I stuck at it. Of course, as well as all the admin for the fair, I also had to make a whole bunch of products to sell! I decided to focus more on make-up products for this event, as they're bright and eye-catching. If you're reading this at the time it's published, you'll notice that some of the products I had on my stall aren't actually available on the website yet. That's because I'm still experimenting with colours and wanted to test out which would be most popular. ​

In fact, we had a steady stream of visitors throughout the day. What was particularly gratifying was that everyone seemed really interested in complementary medicine and therapies, and spent a long time talking to all the stallholders in the room. Lots of people had good days sales-wise (including me), but more importantly lots of networking opportunities were created between people working in different types of therapy.
